VIETWIRELESS · CHAPTER 0
Before 5G, start with a simpler question:
how do we send information over distance?
Wireless communications is easier to understand when the ideas are connected: a physical waveform, sampling, frequency, complex baseband, modulation, OFDM, the radio channel and finally the structures used by 4G, 5G NR and NTN.
THE LONG VIEW
Different generations of communication systems keep solving the same core problem.
Information must be represented by a signal, transported through a physical channel, observed in noise and reconstructed at the receiver. Radio technology changes quickly; these foundations do not.
THE BIG PICTURE
Follow one signal from information to RF, through the channel, and back again.
The learning map starts with what a signal is, then moves through sampling, amplitude/frequency/phase, complex numbers, I and Q, Fourier analysis, modulation, the wireless channel, OFDM, resource grids and 5G NR.
Signal foundations
Time, frequency, samples, phase, complex numbers and I and Q.
Wireless link
RF, antennas, noise, multipath, fading and synchronization.
OFDM
Subcarriers, FFT/IFFT, cyclic prefix and the resource grid.
5G NR & NTN
Initial access, channels, reference signals, timing and satellite effects.

Learn the system in the order the concepts depend on one another.
The English edition is being introduced progressively. The bilingual structure is now in place, with the full Vietnamese lessons remaining available while English lesson translations are added.
